Fall Events at ECF

Thursday, October 24th, 2019

With our second snowfall already upon on us, the seasons are officially changing. Join us in embracing the fall weather and celebrating the Great Indoors at our many upcoming events over the next few weeks.

Community Education + Entertainment Series

This series hosts events on Thursdays at 6:30pm, all focused on highlighting members of our community and fostering relationships among our Eagle family. Upcoming events include….

October 24th: “(people) of water” film starring US Men’s Raft Team

This movie event features our very own John Mark Seelig, owner of GOAT Fitness and Captain of the US Men’s Rafting Team. The film first debuted at the 5point Adventure Film Festival this past spring, and documents the team’s adventures and learning experiences in Hawaii as part of the Na Pali Challenge.

October 31st: Halloween Spookfest

Bring your headlamps and your A-Game for our Lights Out Halloween Spookfest. We’ll turn out the lights for the night to let headlamps and glowsticks guide your climbing. Come in costume to participate in our costume contest, and run the little ones by for a Trick-Or-Treating pit stop.

11:11 Master Yoga Workshop with Tara Winterhalter

Tara Winterhalter, founder of the 11:11 Yoga Practice, will be visiting Eagle Climbing + Fitness on Friday 10/25 at 5:00pm
and Saturday 10/26 at 10:00am. Tara describes her practice as:

“… an urban yoga methodology that uses palindromes to create unique power yoga sequences. Rather than moving right to left, our sequences are done on one side, then flipped and reversed backward. We use 11 primary poses chosen to warm up the body and target specific muscle groups. We mix them with secondary poses and cardio movement. Throughout class we bring awareness to the chakras, fire up the core, and move through 11 sun salutations done to stellar music with positive intention to attract what you need and release what you don’t.”

Join Tara herself to experience a new take on balance, symmetry, and energy –  both in the body and in the mind.

Reel Rock Film Tour

The Reel Rock Film Tour, perhaps the most anticipated off-the-rock event of the year within the greater climbing community, returns to Eagle Climbing + Fitness on November 8th. All proceeds from our premier of Reel Rock 14 will benefit the Live Like Logan Fund, which honors former athlete and coach Logan Jauernigg by providing financial assistance and opportunities for the Valley’s young athletes to climb, kayak, ski, and explore their outdoor surroundings.

Reel Rock 14 is made up of three short films featuring elite and everyday climbers alike. In “The High Road”, the powerful and bold Nina Williams tests herself on some of the highest, most difficult boulders ever climbed. In “United States of Joe’s” climbers collide with a conservative coal mining community in rural Utah… to surprising results. And in “The Nose Speed Record,” legends Tommy Caldwell and Alex Honnold battle Yosemite dirtbags Jim Reynolds and Brad Gobright in a high stakes race for greatness.

Last year’s event drew a huge crowd, filling all three floors with viewers, and we hope to build the same excitement this year! Prepare to get comfy on the mats, couches, and bean bags, or bring a camp chair from home. Tickets on sale soon, online or at the door.
